Only being physically fit isn’t enough.
We hear all the time that exercising and getting in shape will change your life. While being in good health will certainly benefit you, it is not the only determining factor in your overall health. There are so many different things that play a role in our health everyday. Stress, worry, fear nutritional habits and so many others.
Did you know that stress actually promotes fat storage? That’s right. Stress produces a hormone called Cortisol. When too much Cortisol is released into the body, it can cause things like fat storage, hair loss, and muscle weakness. So what good would being consistent in the gym be if you’re constantly stressed all the time and your body is releasing too much Cortisol. That would literally be like fighting against your own body.
Cortisol is the hormone released in the “fight or flight” response by the sympathetic nervous system. When our body perceives us to be in a stressful or dangerous situation. Our body does this automatically, without us even having to do anything. So right now, you’re probably trying to make yourself not be stressed to stop excess cortisol from being released into your body. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that.
So what’s the solution?
Jesus came to this earth to set the captives free. Being bound by stress, worry and fear is not from Jesus. In Luke Chapter 4, the Bible talks about being set free from bondage. There is so much more to life than just being physically fit. At Armor Fitness, we not only will help you in your physical fitness, but will also encourage you to become stronger in your spiritual fitness as well.
When you combine physical fitness with spiritual fitness, that’s when you will see sustainable, life changing results.
